You, too, can make a 4-H Video to Celebrate the Centennial of 4-H
Gather your family, friends, club, or any 4-H gang together and make a centennial celebration video about your membership in 4-H. This could include multi-generational families, alumni from a former 4-H club, a current 4-H club, former camp counselors, fair friends – you name it – get the group together and make a video or two or three. Or maybe you would like to tell your own individual story [. . . .]
The decision has been made to have a terminal show for the 2014 swine project at the Oconto County Fair. This means there will be no breeding classes shown. The Fair Board will be arranging for all market hogs to be sent to either Maplewood Meats or Gillett Meats on the Monday (August 18th) following the Oconto County Fair by the Fair Board.
Because the Wisconsin state veterinarian banned swine weigh-ins, the swine will be identified [. . . .]
Sheep Weigh In
The Sheep Weigh-in is planned for Saturday, April 26, at the Fairgrounds in Gillett from 10-11 a.m.
Summer Camp (for youth who have completed grades 3-6) will be June 16-19 at Camp Bird. Adventure Camp (for youth who have completed grades 7-12) will be July 20-23 at Upham Woods. These camps are open to all youth; being a member of a 4-H club is not a requirement to attend, so tell your friends! The brochure and registration forms for Summer Camp are available at [. . . .]
Come Learn about Alpaca Shearing!
4-H Leaders Jim & Laurie Konyn of Hums of Faith Suris just west of Oconto are looking for some volunteers to help with their alpaca shearing on Sunday, May 4. Volunteers should be 12 years old or older, and would only be needed for a 2 hr shift (but can do more if you are having fun!). We will be shearing from 7:00 am to about 3:30-4:00 pm

MAQA Training Dates
Please note…all youth exhibiting market beef, sheep, swine, poultry or meat goats at the fair must attend a MAQA (Meat Animal Quality Assurance) training every year. If you are not MAQA certified, you will not be eligible to sell in the Sale of Champions at the 2014 Oconto County Fair.
