Any youth that do not have their WI Driver’s license need to be certified in the Tractor and Machinery Safety training to be able to operate farm tractors or machinery on public roadways. Those 12 and older can then work for their family’s farms, while those 14 and older can work for other farms, as well.
There are various options conducted each year by either NWTC or UW-Extension for youth to get certified. Planned 2017 training opportunities:
NWTC – Shawano – June 19-23, approx $83, contact Mark Alden or register online.
