Hosted by Greg Blaser in a field that was winter wheat, planted to a cover crops mix in mid-August. Field across the road is a soybean population plot planted in 30” rows, with planted populations in 30K increments from 60,000 to 180,000.

What we’ll see and/or discuss at this event:
– Effects of soy population on yield potential and disease risk; what are the best planting rates for different soil/yield conditions in our area?
– Cover crop efficacy in dry conditions; timing and mixes of cover crops to consider.
– NRCS Cost-share opportunities, economic realities of cover crops.
– Winter wheat planting and management considerations in fall.
– Open discussion opportunity on all other topics

Free to attend, light lunch at end of program, and reference materials given
out to all attendees

**Also the last 2018 corn silage sample collection event. Bring your corn samples along if you have fields yet to test for silage, snaplage, HMC, etc… If only bringing corn samples, please try to be there toward the end of event.

Field site is located on east side of Blaser Lane adjacent to Cty. Hwy. C. North of Cty. Hwy. S about 2.5 miles or south from Cty. Hwy. D about 1.5 miles. Signs and a pop-up tent or two will be present.
